Quest Name: Wolf Were Quest

Level: 30

Class: ALL

Quest NPC: Fryda Lightwolf in CLW

Location: Fryda is in the castle in North Wilderlands

Tail NPC: Levandius in the Unkempt Village, Unkempt North (S)

Speak with Fryda Lightwolf in Castle LightWolf. She will ask you to search for Brother Norton. To locate him, follow the road south from CLW. He is just past the Inn. Speaking with him triggers three mobs — one casts, the other two are melee. Their level is determined by the person who triggers them. After you have defeated them, return to Fryda.

Fryda will now send you to speak with John Lightwolf in the Freezeblood Village (N). Run south from Halas into the wilderness and search the terrain for him. He can be found at the base of a small hill in the ice plains. Speaking with him triggers three mobs similar to the first part of the quest. Return to Fryda after you have defeated them.

Fryda will now ask you to speak with Levandius in the Unkempt North (S) to log the tail quest. He can be found in one of the suspended huts in the druid village. Log that quest and begin farming the appropriate wolfweres until you acquire an infection pop-up. If Levandius will not speak with you (i.e., you can't even log the tail quest), you'll need to hunt wolfweres first to raise your faction with Night Reapers to 0 (≈150).

For infection, killing weres that con YELLOW to you is key. Yellow-con weres give you the greatest chance of infection. Check your level against the zone information below and ensure you are hunting yellow-con weres — otherwise, you'll only gain faction. If you are already infected and just need faction, it’s easier to hunt in lower-level zones.

Infection Rumor (Level 60 Help)

There was a rumor that having a level 60 in your low-level group would reduce your infection chance. This is false.

Dustyspheres says: “The rumor that having a level 60 in your low-level group affects your chance of infection just isn't true. The last 9 infections I helped with all happened while grouped with a 60 Bard doing all the killing. Lowbies (33–39) were invised, auto-following, looting tails — and still got infected quickly, most before even reaching 1k faction.”

Where to Get Infected

Level 30–40

  • Forkwatch
  • North Wilderlands (Lvl 34 confirmed)
  • Unkempt North
  • Unkempt Glade

At level 37, in Forkwatch near the arches on the river, is the perfect infection spot. Kill wildlife in that area to spawn yellow wolfweres — this is key. In multiple tests, killing a yellow were at level 37 = instant infection.

Level 40–50

  • Salisearaneen (center-north, near dire worgs — TY Kemuell)
  • Forkwatch (Lvl 40 confirmed)

Level 50–60

  • Stoneburnt Mountains (Lvl 52–60 confirmed)

Note: SBM is crawling with wolfweres!

The Hunt

You’ll know you’re infected when, upon approaching Levandius to turn in tails, you get a popup stating he has something urgent to speak with you about.

You can also verify infection in Oasis. Go to the campfire near the water — several NPCs stand around it.

  • Advisor Gerahl: Checks for any infection.
  • Advisor Nitarha: Checks specifically for wolf infection.

After infection, Levandius will ask you to defeat Zaran in Unkempt North (C).

  • Run west along the road from CLW, past the inn — a tower will be on your right.
  • Zaran spawns just beyond it.
  • His level scales with the person who triggers him — bring help!

Note: If you get the popup that Levandius has something urgent to tell you:

  • If he only gives you the tail quest again, make sure your Night Reapers faction is at least 1000.
  • If your faction is fine, delete the tail quest from your log and re-speak to Levandius — he should now give you the final infection quest.
  • When Levandius gives you his speech: Do NOT take the antidote, or you lose your infection.
  • Do NOT continue hunting tails.

Level 40 Spell Quest

⚠️ Warning: Many level 40 spell quest mobs are triggered, not timed spawns. If someone kills them before you arrive, you may need to relog your quest with the NPC quest giver to respawn it.

Tips:

  • Scout the spawn area before triggering your mob.
  • Or, have a guildmate camp the spawn while you log the quest to protect it.

Quest Steps

  1. Speak with Edward Duskrender (TY Pixie_FH) in the druid village, Unkempt North (S). He’s on the ground near the tree with Levandius.
  2. Defeat Martin Flicker in Mayfly Glade (E) near the river.
    • Find two rocks; stand on the big one, face the forest.
    • Martin spawns near a fallen log ahead.
    • Caster, spawns 10 levels higher than you.
    • Recommended: High AR.
  3. Speak with Dawn Raylight in Muriel Village (C) and John Dewey in Misty Thicket (NE).
  4. Defeat Jasmine, a bear in Surefall Glade (NE).
    • Found within the city walls — evil characters must invis/run from Honjour.
    • Jasmine CONs red cons red and is a triggered melee-only mob.
    • Have a guildmate camp the spawn area.
    • If someone kills Jasmine, relog your quest (don’t delete, just re-speak to Edward Duskrender).

Return to Edward Duskrender and collect your reward.

  • The final mob, Zaren, still spawns red to level 60 even when triggered by a 52.

Jasmine’s Spawn Tip:

Jasmine spawns on the NE end of the lake in Surefall, near the shore in a triangle of trees (one with visible roots).

Respawn is quick — ~5 minutes.

Difficult but doable fight with help.
